Apollo 11

What exactly was Apollo 11? Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that allowed the first men to land on the moon. The ship landed on the moon on June 20th, 1969, and is considered to be the greatest accomplishment in exploring history for mankind. The ship was launched in Florida on June 16th and was the third mission in NASA’s Apollo program. And by June 21st, Neil Armstrong and his crew were the first men in history to walk on the moon. The crew returned home with 47. 5 pounds of lunar rocks for scientist here to study about the lunar surface. The main purpose of this mission was to beat the Soviet Union in the space race, or race to the moon, and was fulfilled to John F. Kennedy’s expectations. He was quoted saying in front of congress, â€Å"I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth. † And he proved to the public that America was still the leader in science, and could out do enemies of the United States. In the time period before the Apollo mission, when it was still on the drawing board, the government was pouring billions of dollars into the education system, especially into math and science so that the engineers coming into the space program at NASA would already have a head start. This is relevant to today, because the government is desperately trying to raise America’s math and science test scores so that we can compete with scores of other countries like China and Korea. The crew of the Apollo 11 consisted of 3 men. Neil Armstrong (Commander), Michael Collins (Command Module Pilot), and Edwin Aldrin Jr. (Lunar Module Pilot). All these men had been on space flights before making the Apollo 11 only the second all veteran crew in spaceflight history. Thousands of people crowded along the launch site to view the take off, but millions of people viewed the launch from the comfort of their homes on the television. The Saturn V rocket launched Apollo 11 into space, and 12 minutes later it had already entered orbit. The craft landed on the Moon in an area known as the Sea Of Tranquility. The astronauts could study the landing site by looking out of the Eagle’s triangular mirrors which gave them a 60 degree view. That’s how they planned out where to place the EASEP or Early Apollo Scientific Experiment Package, and the famous United States flag. Contrary to what you would think, the astronauts stated that moving around on the moon was no problem at all, considering that the gravity on the moon is 1/6 the gravity here on Earth. After the planting of the flag, the crew took part in a â€Å"long distance phone call† with President Nixon in the White House. Nixon referred to the call as, â€Å"The Most Historic Phone Call Ever Made From The White House. † Nixon then gave a brief speech and then hung up because he wanted to give respect to Kennedy and allow the lunar mission to be his legacy. The landing on the moon changed the populations perception of the universe, it also gave U. S. citizens a sense of superiority over all the other countries in the world. It showed that if you work hard enough then you can’t be tied down by boundaries.

He couldn’t let Ryan go to the bathroom because it would just get worst. Ryan reluctantly changed out of their binder and pulled on the sports bra and sweatshirt. Compare two novelsThe Great Gatsby vs Ceremony Free Essay Example, 1500 words

He seems keenly aware of her attractive qualities when he said, â€Å"Her voice is full of money† (Fitzgerald, 120). Fitzgerald believes in the American Dream. The American Dream allows him to work his way up the society ladder in order to obtain Daisy. He believes money can buy prestige, popularity, and love, which makes him alienated from the uneducated community Gatsby was from. Fitzgerald portrayed Daisy like a princess in a fairy tale, with her money protecting her from the unpleasant aspects of the world. Daisy was described as â€Å"high in a white palace, the king’s daughter, the golden girl† (Fitzgerald, 120). In reality, Daisy’s fairy tale image that Gatsby holds is destroyed by the harsh reality of society. Fitzgerald describes Daisy as â€Å"gleaming like silver, safe and proud above the hot struggles of the poor† (150). This description suggests Daisy does not represent the ideal American life. Another layer of reality was added with statements like â€Å"the hopeless comments of the Beale Street Blues† (Fitzgerald, 153). These comments reflect the smugness of the wealthy in this novel. Despite Gatsby’s attempt to penetrate this world, he was rebuffed at every turn. Wealth was not all the Daisy’s group had. Although Gatsby temporarily won Daisy over, he would never keep her forever. Some boundaries are not broken, even with money. Gatsby could gain all the money in the world, but he still would not be from a pedigreed background. Gatsby’s identity, in the end consisted of a self-made wealthy man. Despite his love for Daisy as a driving motivation, Gatsby made money. Unlike the other characters like Daisy and Tom, Gatsby’s motivation for the American Dream and the identity as a wealthy man was purer. Daisy and Tom did not know what it was to live life without money, thus could not appreciate their wealth. Gatsby was once poor, so the appreciation of his wealth was genuine. An individual’s motive for living the American Dream creates their individual identity. In Ceremony, by Leslie Marmon Silko, the identity of three women is sig nificant into creating Tayo’s identity as a half white and half-Laguna Native American. Social Injustice And The Holocaust - 989 Words

Social Injustice Being threatened and killed due to one s belief is unjust and heartless. It shows somethings in a person. It shows that they are below human beings. It shows that they have no care for others besides those closest to them. It is evil, cruel and all in all just not right at all no matter what scenario people find themselves in. This is something called social injustice, or unfair treatment. An example of this is a situation in which the rights of a person or a group of people are ignored or violated in many ways. One big example of social injustice is the holocaust lead by nazi Germany s. The nazis were a group against Jewish people and killed them in massive death camps like Auschwitz . People of many ages were brought there. From retired grandpas and grandma to children not even in preschool. The treatment was the same for all. The perspective on the other hand was different. The little kids may not have realized how bad it was compared to the older folk who saw and understo od what went on in these type of camps and situations. This type of traumatic experience can change a person and is a terrible thing that history definitely doesn t want to repeat. Advantages and Disadvantages of Continued Growth †MyAssignmenthelp

Question: Discuss about the Advantages and Disadvantages of Continued Growth. Answer: Introduction: The world has experienced strong position of most of the western countries, for instance, the U.S.A and the U.K, in the form of economic development, education, political power and technology, which in turn has helped those countries to possess a leading position in international market. However, according to the recent economical trend, eastern countries, like China, with their increasing market share, are going to capture the leading positions of those western countries (Harris, 2018). This report is going to describe this shift of economic power from the western countries to the eastern one, based on the changing economic conditions of China, India and South Korea. Since the beginning of colonial time, Europe has most of the countries, worldwide. However, after the Second World War, the U.S has captured this ruling position from Europe and from that time, has remained the worlds leading country. However, over the last few years, most of the Asian countries, especially China and India are significantly increasing their market conditions in international economy (Cashin, Mohaddes Raissi, 2017). Through advanced and modern methodologies in the field of economic activities, those countries have gathered enough financial and economical potential to beat some leading world economy by 2050 (Layne, 2018). By adopting largest and fastest increasing market strategies, China has already captured a significant position in the world market and consequently, is starting to play the leading position in various international activities regarding decision-making, which in turn, has created huge threat for western countries, especially for the U.S.A, as it has enjoyed the same position for the last many years. This situation can be described as the Thucydides trap, where the U.S is going to start a trade war, as they are afraid of the emerging economic condition of China (Feng, 2018). Consequently, the U.S has focusing on some other areas, which is adversely affecting the country further. For instance, the U.S has started to interfere in the economic activities of the Middle East countries, which in turn has created various outcomes like war, immigration to Europe and terrorism. This immigration has adversely influenced the entire economic condition of the Europe. In addition to this, Brexit, the economic crisis of Greece and adverse condition of Ukraine has led the entire European countries to face economic instability (Harris, 2018). China has utilized this instable condition and consequently, is capturing the same position of those western countries in world market. India and South Korea, through their emerging international trade, have also captured a significant portion in the world market, which can be understood by the presence of those countries in many international groups, who take leading decision for the world economy. With diverse socio-political and economical conditions, those Asian countries have huge success to increase their own national income. In this context, it is essential to mention the leading role of BRICS, (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) through which, those eastern countries has decided to form an international monetary institution to compete with the World Bank (Rasoulinezhad Jabalameli, 2018). The U.S dollar has experienced the chief currency in intentional economy because of the World Bank. However, after the formation of this institution, the U.S. dollar can lose its position and may share an equal position with Chinas currency, the Renminbi. The above diagram has depicted that since 1990, China and India have experienced significant increase in their national income with a higher rate, while that for other western countries have remained low. Chinas GDP growth rate has remained the higher one, which in turn has help to experience the leading position. While the leading western economy is facing economic crisis, China, by providing financial support to other countries and to the U.S for reducing their huge amount of public debt, is taking a significant position. Moreover, by capturing the world country through marketing, China is actually increasing its leading power in those countries (Du, Lin Han, 2018). Through labor-intensive production technique, the country has fully utilized its economic resources. This has helped the countrys terms of trade. India and South Korea, with their modern technology have also going to capture the position of the U.K and Japan. Conclusion: Hence, in conclusion, it can be said that, most of the eastern countries, especially China, India and South Korea, through their increasing share in international market, have captured the leading position, which is increasing serious threats for the U.S and for other developed western countries. From being a developing country to the worlds leading one, those countries have played leading position for other developing countries, as well. References: Cashin, P., Mohaddes, K., Raissi, M. MacBeth - Attitude Changes Essays - Characters In Macbeth

MacBeth - Attitude Changes In the tragic drama Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare in 1606 during the English Renaissance, the hero, Macbeth, constantly declines in his level of morality until his death at the end of the play. Because of his change of character from good to evil, Macbeth's attitude towards other characters, specifically Duncan, Banquo, Lady Macbeth, and the witches, is significantly affected. The first of the four characters is Duncan. Since Macbeth interacts with Duncan only a minimal amount before Duncan's death, Macbeth's attitude towards him changes very rapidly. Before Macbeth hears the witches' first prophecy, he is very close to Duncan, and would never even think of doing something against him. When the thought of murdering Duncan crosses his mind immediately after he finds that he has just been named Thane of Cawdor, he cannot believe he "yield[s] to that suggestion / Whose horrid image doth unfix my hair / And make my seated heart knock at my ribs" (I, iii, 133-35). In scene 5 of act 1, however, his "vaulting ambition" is starting to take over, but partly because of his wife's persuasion. He agrees that they must "catch the nearest way" (17), and kill Duncan that night. On the other hand, as the time for murder comes nearer, he begins giving himself reasons not to murder Duncan: First, as I am his kinsman and his subject, Strong both against the deed; then, as his host, Who should against his murderer shut the door, Not bear the knife myself. (I, vii, 13-16) When Lady Macbeth enters, though, she uses her cunning rhetoric and pursuasion techniques to convince Macbeth that this is, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the right thing to do. He then tells her that "I am settled." (79). He is firmly seated in his beliefs that killing Duncan is the right thing to do-until he performs the murder. He is so horrified by this act that for a moment he forgets where he is or whom he is with. We learn from this murder that Macbeth truly had faith in the king and was very loyal, but under the forces of his wife's persuasion and his own vaulting ambition, he is put in the evil frame of mind for just long enough to kill Duncan. This murder does permanently alter him from his moral state of mind, however, and he soon does not feel much remorse for murdering Duncan. The Second of the four characters towards whom Macbeth's attitude changes is Banquo. Before he murders Duncan, Macbeth is a very close friend to Banquo, and they are almost always together. After the murder, however, Macbeth senses suspicion on Banquo's part. He realizes that Banquo's "wisdom that doth guide his valour / To act in safety" (52-53) will cause Banquo to want to turn Macbeth in for his crime. Macbeth knows he must also get rid of Banquo since, according to the prophecy, the throne will pass to Banquo's sons otherwise. Macbeth starts showing his extreme hatred towards Banquo while he is convincing the two murderers that killing him is right: Macb: Both of you Know Banquo was your enemy. Murderers: True, my lord. Macb: So is he mine; and in such bloody distance That every minute of his being thrusts Against my near'st of life; (III, i, 114b-118) Finally, Macbeth actually shows signs of relief when the murderer calls him to the door during his banquet and tells him of Banquo's death: Macb: There's blood upon thy face. Murderer: 'Tis Banquo's then. Macb: 'Tis better thee without than he within. (III, iv, 12-14) Macbeth's last statement, "Tis . . . within", means that Banquo's blood is better on the murderer than in Banquo, showing that Macbeth is, in truth, happy that Banquo has been killed. the killing of Banquo by Macbeth shows extreme selfishness; he cannot bear to see even his best friend's sons succeed him on the throne. However, a more important reason that Macbeth kills Banquo is because of Banquo's suspicion of him, and what Banquo will do to him once he finds out for sure that Macbeth has commited the murder of Duncan. One can see that Macbeth becomes extremely harsh if he wants his way. He will go to horrid extremes just so that he does
